Family Portrait FAQ

What to wear ...

This is by far the most asked question we get. For family portraits, try to coordinate everyone’s clothing so you all look like you belong to the same family with similar colors and tones. In general, very busy patterns and/or bright colors tend to distract from the faces in a portrait. Solids and muted or pastel colors seem to work best. Bare skin (short sleeve shirts & short pants) also tends to take the attention away from the faces so consider wearing long sleeves & pants.

What's the best time of day for our photo session ...

This depends on the location you choose. At the beach the only good time is the hour before sunset. Any other time of day (especially in the summer) it is too hot, too bright and there are too many people on the beach.

If you pick a location other than the beach it can be done almost any time of day.

What if it rains ...

Florida weather can change quickly and is very localized. it can be raining in the front yard and sunny in the back yard. Rarely do we have to cancel a shoot due to weather though. We'll call you a few hours before your appointment to confirm and discuss the weather conditions.

How it works ...

We can photograph as many different combinations of people in your family that you like. Within a week after your session you will get a link to download all your high resolution digital photos that you can print or share any way you like.
